The Living Compendium

The Living Compendium is a public collection of experiences, observations, practical and professional knowledge, technical knowledge, research, policy perspectives, and questions about housing and building systems.

Useful knowledge is often spread across projects, professions, organizations, communities, and formal reports. The Compendium provides a place where these different kinds of knowledge can be shared and considered together.

People can use the Compendium to learn from different experiences, notice recurring issues, connect different kinds of knowledge, and identify questions that need further attention. It can inform discussion, practice and decisions, but it does not make decisions or replace research, professional advice, policy processes, or community decision-making.

Learn about the Compendium

Learn more about how the Living Compendium brings together policy perspectives, practice-based learning, technical knowledge, lived experience, research and unresolved questions.

Taken together, contributions can create a shared record of what people are experiencing, learning, questioning, and trying across housing and building systems. This can help knowledge remain available beyond a single project, organization, or conversation.
